just booked to return in august last stayed in may 2010
had a wonderful time so well appointed loverly garden, spotlessly clean, in a great location easy to get in and out without having to negotiate port isaac main street which can be a challlange, really looking forward to our return visit.
Coastguards
Just returned from a week at Coastguards, what a fantastic place. Everyone is so friendly in Port Isaac and many places to drive out to and visit. We had a wonderful time, very relaxing Port Isaac is every bit as beautiful as it is portrayed on TV. Thanks Jim for a great holiday
Coastguard Cottage
My husband and I had a fantastic week staying in the cottage in May 2011. It is beautifully maintained and fresh towels and bedding provided is such a bonus. There is no garden, but in such a location it is unnecessary. A parking space is available, which is a rarity in Port Isaac. Ideally positioned for sightseeing, just an hour’s drive to the south coast, or a few minutes’ walk to local beaches, (don’t bother going to the Eden Project though, it is expensive and disappointing). My favourite places, apart from Port Isaac itself, were picturesque Padstow, awesome Boscastle and Trebarwith Strand. We have never holidayed in the same place twice before, but will definitely return to Coastguard Cottage next year. We are recommending it to everyone we know, so if we can’t get a booking next year we will only have ourselves to blame!
SilverShell
Amazing property, very modern, spacious, clean and in a lovely location. Garden is large aswell our Boxer Dog loved it! Beds are so comfy too! And thanks for the fun you supplied with the Nintendo Wii! Keep an eye out for the cast of Doc Martin, saw them all apart from the Doc himself. Also spot the Fishermans Friends around there aswell. Go to the platt on a Friday evening at 7.30 they are usually singing there! Will definately recommend to others, its well worth the money and we shall definately be returning! Thank you for a lovely holiday!

Our Recommendations
Just a few things to see and do that we enjoyed in and around Port Isaac.
We definitely recommend you pop in to the village bakery called Nicki B's. She makes fantastic cornish pasties and cakes.
We visited Wadebridge and can recommend you go to Granny Wobbly's Fudge Pantry. Absolutely gorgeous made in store fudge, unlike anything else you'll ever taste. Also in Wadebridge is The Raj Indian restauramt and take away. Beautiful food. We visited Truro, that's really good for shopping, as it has a market as well. We went to a place called Cornish Goodies in Bodmin which was good. It's a factory outlet that sells loads of Cornish things and lots of fancy goods. You must visit Tintagel for King Arthur's Castle. Absolutely beautiful views and a very interesting piece of history. You must go to Pengenna Bakery in Tintagel, another place for fantastic cornish pasties, which you can also order by post! We passed through St Kew a few times. It's a lovely quaint chocolate box village, it will make for some lovely photos. It has a pub there where you can have a drink or a meal. You must also visit Padstow, famous for Rick Stein. Lots of gift shops and plenty of Rick Stein things to see/buy. The last place we recommend is Smugglers Fish and Chips in Delabole. Fantastic take away!
I hope you have found this info helpful even if it was mostly food orientated.
Enjoy Port Isaac and surrounding areas.

5 Silvershell Road
Hi Jim and Amanda,
Just had to write this review of Silvershell. Me and my husband had a fantastic week's holiday in your property as well as Port Isaac. A beautiful bungalow, everything we expected and more! We loved the sea views from the living room and front bedrooms. A lovely quiet estate, we never heard a peep all week, bliss. Couldn't believe the space in the property and the open fire was lovely and toasty. Shame we didn't get to see any filming because there wasn't any at the time.
Me and my husband will definitely be renting Silvershell again and will be recommending it to everyone we know!
Thank you both for everything.

We had a fantastic time in a beautiful location and stunning accommodation - pity we didn't bump into Martin Clunes though!!!
Thank you so much for a truly wonderful holiday - we did a lot of walking which was very good for us!
Port Isaac provided a peaceful location and central base for travelling around North Cornwall.
WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!!!
Coastguards Cottage
Cosy, modern and well-equipped cottage within a minute's walk of Port Isaac's lovely shops, galleries and restaurants, fantastic coastal path and harbour - we couldn't have asked for more - we even had sunshine in the worst summer for years! (You can even play 'spot the celebrity' if you're lucky...or not...)
Silvershell May 2007
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Silvershell bungalow this year. It is excellently furnished and spacious throughout. Access for disabled was good too. We enjoyed the decking at the rear especially in the evenings. We look forward to next years visit.
Silvershell
"The house and location (and weather) were perfect for us. A particularly nice feature for me was the deck in the rear garden. It allowed me to sit in the sun and read in the evening. It was so nice to find everything we needed at hand in the bungalow. The three bathrooms were an invaluable feature. We have been busy singing your praises amongst our friends, so I hope that more families will be making their way from Kent to Port Isaac. The house was also excellent value for money."
Beautifully renovated bungalow
We stayed here in October 2006 and had a fantastic week. The bungalow has been beautifully renovated with lovely oak floors throughout, a large, well equipped kitchen and spacious but very homely living areas with lots extras provided (music centre, TV, DVD player and games. All the bedrooms are really good sizes and the ensuite was a real bonus. Perfect location for getting to some of the loveliest beaches and coastal areas of north Cornwall. The bungalow also has a lovely garden with a raised decked seating area. Really beautifully renovated and very well equipped - all towels and bedding provided. Book it!
Perfect, cosy, Cornish cottage
This cottage is in a perfect location just 200 yards from the centre of the village. It is ideal for any time of year with a log burner for the winter evenings and beautiful beaches and coastal walks very close by for all year round. We had a really lovely time here and felt very much at home. All the little extras are a huge bonus too - towels and bedding provided. Cant wait to go back.
Beaches, Walks and Golf Courses
There are several beaches in the vicinity of Port Isaac, including the harbour beach in Port Isaac. Within walking distance of the cottages is Port Gaverne, Port Gaverne beach is sheltered and usually has very calm seas ideal for sunbathing and swimming. For Beaches within 5 or 6 miles trebarwith and Polzeath are very good for surfing beaches. For Windsurfing and walking then Daymer Bay and Rock are both very good. Of the above most allow dogs but I find Port Gaverne, Daymer Bay and port Quinn to be ideal.
Walking: you are on the North Cornwall Coast with its coastal footpaths need I say more!
Golfing: there is a 9 hole course at St kew (3 Miles) other good course within 10 miles include; St Endellion, Bowood and Roserrow.
Features
The property benefits from full double-glazing, night storage heaters, a large wood burner in the lounge, modern electrics and plumbing. There is a cd player, tv, recordable DVD player, large collection of books and games.
